Way of the Cross in Kitalanga – Good Friday Reflection
Date: Friday, 18th April 2025
Location: Kitalanga Area
Led by: Mub. Abraham Kalanzi
On Good Friday, 18th April 2025, the Christian community in Kitalanga gathered in reverence and reflection for the Way of the Cross, a solemn walk that retraces the final steps of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The procession was prayerfully led by Mub. Abraham Kalanzi, whose guidance helped the faithful to meditate deeply on Christ’s passion and ultimate sacrifice.
As the cross was lifted and carried through the roads and paths of Kitalanga, hearts were stirred with the weight of the love and suffering Jesus endured for the salvation of mankind. Each station brought powerful moments of prayer, Scripture reading, and reflection, drawing participants into a deeper appreciation of the cost of redemption.
A Day of Reverence and Spiritual Renewal
The community, both young and old, walked together in unity—bearing symbolic crosses, singing hymns of lament and hope, and engaging in responsive prayers. It was not merely a ritual, but a moving spiritual journey that connected the struggles of our lives to the suffering of Christ, reminding all that:
-
Jesus bore our pain so we wouldn’t carry it alone.
-
His death brings us life, and His suffering brings our healing.
-
The cross is not the end, but the doorway to resurrection.
Moments of Impact
As the stations were marked across the Kitalanga area, residents joined in from their homes and roadsides, moved by the prayers and presence of fellow believers. The message of the cross echoed not just in words but in the shared faith and devotion of all who walked.
Mub. Abraham Kalanzi’s reflections at each station were filled with scriptural truth, pastoral encouragement, and heartfelt prayer. His leadership reminded us that the journey to the cross is personal—inviting us all to carry our own crosses daily and follow Jesus faithfully.
Thanksgiving
We bless the Lord for the ministry that took place on this sacred day. We are thankful for the lives touched, the hearts renewed, and the souls encouraged to walk in the light of Christ, even through the dark valleys of life.
As we continue through the Easter season, may the memory of the Way of the Cross in Kitalanga remind us of this eternal truth:
“By His wounds, we are healed.” – Isaiah 53:5
To God be the glory!
