The Kansanga Parish Choir has once again lifted the Ugandan flag high after emerging 13th out of 62 choirs at the International Hymn Festival (IHF) 2025, held in Mombasa, Kenya, from October 28th to November 1st, 2025. The festival brought together choirs from across East Africa, showcasing the region’s finest sacred music and choral excellence.

With grace, harmony, and deep spirituality, the Kansanga Parish Choir delivered moving performances that deeply touched the audience and judges alike. Their powerful renditions of traditional hymns and contemporary sacred pieces reflected the choir’s discipline, devotion, and passion for glorifying God through music.

The choir’s remarkable performance was not just a musical display but a heartfelt ministry of worship. Each note carried a message of faith, unity, and hope, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended. Their success stands as a proud moment not only for Kansanga Parish but also for the wider Church of Uganda.

This milestone would not have been possible without the visionary leadership of Mrs. Kiganda Christine, the Choir Director, whose tireless guidance and commitment continue to inspire the entire team. Special appreciation also goes to Mr. Walugembe Galdino, the Choir Master, whose artistic direction and musical excellence elevated the choir’s performance to an international standard. The choir further extends heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Simon Peter Waswa, the Organist, whose skill and sensitivity on the keys brought life and depth to every hymn performed.

Sincere appreciation goes to the choristers themselves for their dedication, teamwork, and countless hours of practice. Their unity and faith-driven spirit have been the heartbeat of Kansanga Parish Choir’s success story. The choir also extends its deepest thanks to the Church Clergy, especially Rev. Alex Kyobe, whose pastoral guidance and prayers provided both spiritual strength and encouragement throughout the journey.

Gratitude is also due to the Parish Leadership Committee, whose unwavering support made the trip and participation possible. The choir further acknowledges the Head of Laity, Counsel James Kyazze, for spearheading and coordinating the Christians’ generous contributions that enabled the team to travel, participate, and represent the parish honorably at the festival.

The Kansanga Parish Choir returns home with hearts full of thanksgiving—to God, to the church, and to every believer who stood with them in prayer, encouragement, and support. As they prepare for a Thanksgiving Hymn Festival to share their experiences with the parish community, they do so with one message at heart: “To God be the glory, great things He has done!”

Indeed, this achievement is more than a victory in song; it is a testimony that when God’s people sing with one voice and one heart, His glory is revealed across nations.
